1. What services do you provide?
We provide 15MB of free webspace with 24/7 FTP uploads, complete SSI support, unlimited Email forwarding accounts and colour statistics, catch-all email, full .htaccess support, error 404 pages, password protected directories and more.
We DO NOT put any ads on your website.
2. Why do you offer all this for free?
Becouse we want and we like to provide this service. We would also like to train you from a homepage maker to a webmaster.
3. What kind of subdomain will it be? Is it an URL redirection?
The subdomain is 100% Real. Anyone on the Internet will be able to surf your website and send you email to whatever@you.united.net.kg.
4. What email address will I get?
Your email address will be anything@you.united.net.kg but not you@united.net.kg
5. Can I have a domain name like MyDomain.com?
Yes. You can take advantages of our free Domain Registration service. We will register a Domain Name for you and point it to your existing account absolutely Free. Visit our Free Domain page to learn more.
6. What is your FTP server?
Our FTP Server is ftp.mega.net.kg or 212.15.64.96. You must use your username, password and FTP server to login.

7. I've got my confirmation email, what should I do next?
Upload your files to the FTP sever. You will need an FTP Program. Here are 3 FTP programs that 100% work with our servers (they are available for free):
8. Do you provide Front Page 98/2000 extantions?
No. And we are not going to provide them in future.
We also don't support FrontPage 98/2000 FTP uploader.
9. Can you increase my space or bandwidth?
No. We provide our free hosting packages as and only as it is stated on our Home Page page without any exeptions.
10. Can you install some additional libraries, perl modules, buy a New Computer for me?
No, without any exeptions.
11. Is there a bandwidth limit?
Yes, 100MB per month.
12. What happens if I grow up and go over my limit?
You can transfer to a better (paid) server, as our goal is to train you to a qualified webmaster.
13. Do I need to put your ads on my site?
No. Never. But if you want to get revenue from your website, you should join
the Commission Junction

14. Do I need to place your link on my site?
Yes, you HAVE to place a link to United Net on the main page of your website. We run a script several times a month that checks for the links. And if there is no link to United Net on the MAIN page of your website, or it is hidden somehow, your account will be automatically terminated. Please click here to get the linking.

No. Unfortunately, due to permanent abuse we no longer provide CGI, PHP and MySQL support.

1. How should I name my homepage file?
index.html or index.htm. You can also setup your own name and extention by placing .htaccess file into your Root Directory with the following line in it:
DirectoryIndex mysuperpage.html
So, mysuperpage.html will be your homepage.
2. How do I password protect a directory?
The .htaccess file goes in the directory you want password protected.
Upload a .htpasswd file to the path specified in the .htaccess file.
The encrypted password can be obtained from http://www.inch.com/commercial/web/server/apache/htpasswd.html
The .htaccess file looks like:
AuthUserFile /home/username/a-path-to-password-file/.htpasswd
AuthName "Please Log On"
AuthType Basic
require valid-user
and the .htpasswd file looks like:
username:ed3BAk2gugqxk
where you change "username" to be the username you want entered and "ed3BAk2gugqxk" is the encrypted password you got from the www.inch.com web site. Just add more username:password pairs, one pair per line, to the .htpasswd file for more users.
3. How do I make my own Error 404 page?
Upload .htaccess file in your Root Directory and make it look like:
ErrorDocument 404 /a-path-to-file/error404.htm
where error404.htm is your error page (must be more than 3Kb). Do not include /home/username to the Path!
4. How do I use SSI?
There are a couple of ways to do this.
The first is to simply name your files with .shtml as the extension. By doing that our server will parse the file and process the SSI commands.

You may not have provided the correct Email Address or an Error has occured in the system. Try signing up for another account or request your password to be sent again. - Request now

3. I can't connect to you FTP server. What is wrong?
The most common reasons are:
- You are using FTP programm that we don't support. Please click here and look at Question 7 for the FTP programs that 100% work with our servers.
- You are using a wrong username or password. In some email programs lower case letter "L" looks like number one "1". Please check up your username and password twice before connecting to FTP server.
- Sometimes the ftp server will reject connections. This is to maintain a high level of service during peak hours. Please be patient and try again.
4. My FTP account works fine. But I can't access my site throught my browser for nearly 2 days. What is wrong?
The matter is that we give you 100% real Subdomain not just a redirection.
Real Subdomains act just like Real Domains, so your new account will
take further 1 - 5 days for the DNS to propagate around the world.
But sometimes strange things happan on the Internet. Sometimes it takes up to 10 days.
We can not be responsilbe for those delays. But neither can you! If you still can't access your site in a weak or so please signup for another account. It might help. Or you may try to reach your site bypassing the DNS system. Learn more

You can reach your site bypassing the DNS system. It works like temporary URL. So only you will be able to see you site before the DNS propagate around the world.
If you are using Windows put the following line into your C:\WINDOWS\hosts file:
212.15.64.41 mysite.united.net.kg
where mysite.united.net.kg is your subdomain name. (or mysite.mega.net.kg if you are using mega.net.kg subdomain)
If you have difficulties, please follow these steps:
1. Go to the "Start" menu, then choose Run...
2. Type this: NOTEPAD C:\WINDOWS\HOSTS.
(don't forget the final dot, or else notepad would try
to open hosts.txt).
3. Then type in the line showed above and save the file.
Instantly, you'll be able to reach the site using your favorite web browser.
